Together, we’ll examine key figures in the movement, analyze the elements of effective spoken word poems, and workshop your own creations. Whether you're looking to develop leadership skills or inspire change through your words, this class will guide you in harnessing the power of spoken word poetry.

Christopher D. Sims is a creative writer, a performance artist, as well as a social justice activist and organizer. A spoken word poetry master, he has written spoken word poems that have helped reshape communities and events. After writing "Poetry That Gives Birth To Revolution" Christopher began using spoken word poetry and social change issues to inform, impact, and empower. As an author, his seminal work entitled "Universal Citizen" (2013) ignited his ability to address issues happening in many communities in the United States. He regularly performs as a spoken word poet.
