LGBTQ+ Writers January Meetup

Sunday
-
Jan 19
-
12:00 - 2:00 PM
-
The Porch House at 2811 Dogwood Pl., Nashville, TN 37204

This event is open to all LGBTQ+ writers, in any genre! We'll get to know each other, work through a multi-stage writing prompt, and have the option to share our work. We'll also leave time to discuss a short reading in class, and talk through our current projects and goals. This month's meetup will be facilitated by Kumari Devarajan!

These affinity group meetups are free to attend, but we compensate our facilitators to ensure a high-quality experience and a safe, welcoming space. If you’re able, please consider making a donation of $10–$30 at this link to help us sustain these valuable programs at The Porch.

Kumari Devarajan (they/them) is fiction writer from Washington DC and an MFA candidate at Vanderbilt University’s program in creative writing where they are a Russel G. Hamilton Scholar. They are co editor-in-chief of the Nashville Review. They have attended the Tin House Writers Workshop and been a Lambda Literary fellow. Before joining Vanderbilt, they were an award-winning journalist at NPR where they produced for NPR’s Code Switch podcast as well as Throughline and It’s Been a Minute. In their spare time they enjoy baking, jogging, and winning the affections of their finicky cat, Mason.
