Collage for Writers Member Appreciation Event

SATURDAY

Jan 18
-
10:00 AM - 1:00 PM CT
-
The Porch House at 2811 Dogwood Pl., Nashville, TN 37204

Join us for a morning of creating in community as we invite images to inform our work and encourage us toward our goals. Playing with a variety of pictures from magazines, books, calendars, etc., we’ll make cards that can be used for inspiration around our current projects and our dreamed of writing lives. We’ll set aside concern for artistic prowess and instead, let our intuition guide us. After making cards, we’ll journal with them through a series of writing prompts.

This session will be facilitated by Porch instructor Amy-Lyles Wilson, a writer and creativity coach who believes it is the sharing of our stories that saves us. Amy-Lyles is steeped in helping people tell the stories they need to tell, be it for themselves or for the wider world. She is published writer, professional editor, and longtime workshop leader. Her training includes degrees in English, journalism, and theology; certificates from Amherst Writers and Artists, SoulCollage®, and Lenoir Rhyne University’s program in narrative healthcare; and study with Catherine Anderson and Eric Maisel, among others. Amy-Lyles has led workshops in several states and taught at the Chautauqua Institution and the Earlham School of Religion. Learn more at www.amylyleswilson.com.

Please bring any magazines or other image sources you might want to work with and a journal or laptop for your writing. Plenty of materials will be available for you to pore through as well, along with the supplies for card making.
