What makes a work come alive? How does a character take up residence within us—and what makes us remember them as if they were someone we knew and loved?
In this course we will discuss the power of crafting voice on the page, with a special examination into language as an act of creation. We will review how tools like colloquialisms, humor, timing, internality, and dialogue, as well as pacing, cadence, and rhythm all work together to create memorable, evocative characters who last throughout time and live on in the hearts of readers.
