It begins with a knock on the door, the discovery of a body, or a heinous crime...

But how do you keep your readers, well, reading...and more so, guessing, as the plot unfolds? How do you weave together tension, suspense, and plot twists, and tie up all the red herrings you've left along the way? Together, we will investigate the art of crafting high-stakes thrills, creating imperfect heroes and complex villains, and delivering jaw-dropping twists. Weekly writing exercises and peer feedback will allow you to develop your thriller in progress or brainstorm ideas for your new novel.

What Our Students Say

"Lauren gave me clear, actionable, supportive feedback every step of the way. She was generous in sharing her experience as a professional novelist. I emerged from this workshop with a much clearer vision of how I could improve my manuscript in a major way."

"I’d finished the first few drafts of my novel and then thought 'now what?' This course on revision was so helpful in improving my story, and the last class about finding an agent was so helpful. Loved Lauren and this class!"

"This class opened up a completely new way of thinking and writing for me. I would highly recommend this class and Lauren to anyone working on revision."
